Ever had one of those conferences that are fun, informative, and did I say - fun? No matter whether you're a speaker or an attendee, Cloud Tech Tallinn 2026 was one of those!

For me personally, what started as "hey, we should geek out on this new AI stuff" with Michael Maillot over half a year ago, turned into 45 minutes of pure Microsoft 365 Agents SDK goodness - and chaos! - complete with a demo that actually worked (yes, really!)

If you've ever wrestled with Copilot extensibility, AI agents, or just wanted to see two developers survive a live presentation without technical disasters, you SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE!

I know, a bit late to say that now, but hey - if you missed it, don't worry: We'll be presenting at ECS in May, plus I've got the highlights and resources right here for you!

Background

The event was again at the Kultuurikatel venue in Tallinn, which is a great combination of historic charm and modern facilities.

Visiting Tallinn and meeting so many new and old friends was a blast. And the conference was impressively well organized - although that did not come as a surprise: I kind of already expected that from the team... 😅

We had our session on Friday, which meant we had plenty of time to finish the slides and make sure the demo worked on Thursday evening.

Wait - who am I kidding? We were still working on both FRIDAY MORNING! 😅

But it all came together nicely, and I think we pulled off a great session on the bluest stage I've ever seen!

And that's something, because the stage at Teamsdagen in Stockholm was also very, very blue - and exactly the "Blue Screen of Death" shade of blue!

The Session

I presented a session together with my good friend Michael Maillot about "Supercharge Your Copilot-Driven Collaboration with Microsoft 365 Agents SDK". We had a great time and the conference, and for ONCE the demo actually worked flawlessly! 🎉

We spent a good 45 minutes (pretty much finished on time - for once!) talking about the intuitive, the innovative, and the occasionally infuriating world of the Microsoft 365 Agents SDK.

Check out the slides and resources at the end of this post! I don't think we had a recording of the session, but you can catch us at ECS in Cologne in May 2026 where we'll be delivering an updated version of the same session!

I say "updated", because by then stuff will have changed again, so the demo will break and the slides will be outdated. But hey, that's the fun of working with cutting-edge tech, right? 😅

Tallinn is one of my favorite cities in the world. The blend of medieval charm and modern innovation creates a unique atmosphere that's both inspiring and invigorating. And I love the craft beer scene there!

After the session we took a moment to soak in the Tallinn vibes - the medieval charm mixed with modern tech energy made for an unforgettable backdrop. After that, it was time to zoom back to Finland - on a ferry, how else?

The 2-hour ferry ride from Tallinn to Helsinki was a great opportunity to unwind, reflect on the event, and plan future adventures - we've got some exciting sessions and workshops coming up!

Afterwards, we headed back to the Ice Hockey Capital of Finland, Tampere.
